I use the handle for a little thuddy sensation occasionally, but the stinginess of the thin and tapered end is deceptively intense. The pain doesn't register sometimes until the 5th or 6th hit. Then it burns like fire with each consecutive strike. The marks are also very distinctive, so you know where they are getting the good feels when you have a nice series of marks to guide you. I once thought I lost my Precious and was sad to see it was sold out. Luckily, it returned to me as if it has a will of its own.
