Figuring this out has made me appreciate them more.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBut before I detail these intervals, i wanted to first address the build quality. It seems to be nicely constructed and the controller is a nice size that fits easily in your palm. It's oval, about 3\" long by about one and a half inches wide... kind of like a really skinny egg. :) The only problem i had mechanically was with the clamps themselves. They don't clamp very hard so it's difficult to get them to stay on. And the little paddles that contact your nipples are smooth so they tend to want to slip off. They do however open quite wide so if you have really long, thick nipples like me, this is a plus. Once I got them on, I pinched them down harder into my nipples for a little while to get them to stay on a little better. So, if it were me, I'd make the springs in the clamps a lot stronger. Another feature is that the little electrodes unplug at the clamp as well, so I guess you could maybe use this as another reviewer suggested with different things (like pads or maybe even stronger clamps).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs for the experience. yipes! That's a lot of intensity coming from that little coin battery!! I started on the slow setting and just barely clicked the controller on to its very lowest setting. This was pretty intense and I can see why a lot of people might give up right then and there and return them. The shocks are very sharp -- kind of like a hot needle. Wincing, I turned it up a little and it almost seemed to get better (less needly?) I was a bit discouraged but decided to try the Fast setting and this was actually a lot better (less painful). And if you keep them on for a while, the speed of the shocks change as well as the intensity and the overall sensation.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSo I sat down with my stopwatch and jogging metronome to see if i could figure out if there was a pattern to the different speeds and intensities that I was experiencing. And there was! Clever me. So, on each setting -- Fast or Slow -- it cycles through 5 different speeds\/intensities that change every 60 seconds. After the fifth one, it all just repeats. and after a total of 15 minutes (ugggh my poor nipples!) the unit turns itself off, which is nice to know so you don't have to worry about leaving it on and running the batteries down.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI'll try to describe the sensation of the different cycles, but I'll only go into detail on the Fast setting. (Although the Slow setting also goes through 5 different cycles of 60 seconds each, the intensity of the slow cycle was a bit much for me, so i didn't enjoy it as much)\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCycle ONE: This starts on your nipples at a rate of about 230 shocks per minute. The shocks, as I first described, have that hot needle quality to them. It was uncomfortable at first but after only a few seconds you get used to it and it kind of dulls out. On each of the cycles, I did my best to turn the thing up all the way as well as down all the way to see how the experience changed. In this cycle it seemed to feel best somewhere in the middle. Turning it up all the way was too intense for me and I just didn't like it.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCycle TWO: This jumps to a rate of about 600 or more. It's really fast. more like a vibrator. Turned all the way down you barely feel it, but as you turn it up toward the highest level that hot needle sensation comes back. I liked this somewhere in the middle where the needle sensation was not present. But each pulse has kind of longer sensation that seemed to buzz or vibrate a little. Again at lowest setting it's barely there and feels more like a constant vibration, then when you turn it up a bit the pulse becomes more noticeable. At the highest setting that hot needle effect kicks in which, again, I did not care for.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCycle FOUR: This one is my favorite, and kind of takes you by pleasant surprise. It seems to be the same frequency as the last cycle but it's a very noticeable change in how it feels on your nipples. It's kind of a strong, curious throbbing -- it's softer and fuller, not like a needle but almost like your nipple is being pinched by fingers repeatedly at a very fast rate. Like superman is gently pinching your nipples at super nipple-pinching speed! Not pinched hard, but abruptly and firmly. It's very curious and very intense, but in a really lovely way. I could crank this all the way up, but still preferred the high-mid range just below hot needle. On some of these when I cranked it up to the highest level I could feel my ab muscles start to contract a little.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCycle FIVE: Back to ultra fast 600+ pulse per minute vibration, but on this one you can easily turn the intensity all the way up to the highest intensity setting without experiencing any needle effect. Figuring this out has made me appreciate them more.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBut before I detail these intervals, i wanted to first address the build quality. It seems to be nicely constructed and the controller is a nice size that fits easily in your palm. It's oval, about 3\" long by about one and a half inches wide... kind of like a really skinny egg. :) The only problem i had mechanically was with the clamps themselves. They don't clamp very hard so it's difficult to get them to stay on. And the little paddles that contact your nipples are smooth so they tend to want to slip off. They do however open quite wide so if you have really long, thick nipples like me, this is a plus. Once I got them on, I pinched them down harder into my nipples for a little while to get them to stay on a little better. So, if it were me, I'd make the springs in the clamps a lot stronger. Another feature is that the little electrodes unplug at the clamp as well, so I guess you could maybe use this as another reviewer suggested with different things (like pads or maybe even stronger clamps).\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs for the experience. yipes! That's a lot of intensity coming from that little coin battery!! I started on the slow setting and just barely clicked the controller on to its very lowest setting. This was pretty intense and I can see why a lot of people might give up right then and there and return them. The shocks are very sharp -- kind of like a hot needle. Wincing, I turned it up a little and it almost seemed to get better (less needly?) I was a bit discouraged but decided to try the Fast setting and this was actually a lot better (less painful). And if you keep them on for a while, the speed of the shocks change as well as the intensity and the overall sensation.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSo I sat down with my stopwatch and jogging metronome to see if i could figure out if there was a pattern to the different speeds and intensities that I was experiencing. And there was! Clever me. So, on each setting -- Fast or Slow -- it cycles through 5 different speeds\/intensities that change every 60 seconds. After the fifth one, it all just repeats. and after a total of 15 minutes (ugggh my poor nipples!) the unit turns itself off, which is nice to know so you don't have to worry about leaving it on and running the batteries down.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI'll try to describe the sensation of the different cycles, but I'll only go into detail on the Fast setting. The shocks, as I first described, have that hot needle quality to them. It was uncomfortable at first but after only a few seconds you get used to it and it kind of dulls out. On each of the cycles, I did my best to turn the thing up all the way as well as down all the way to see how the experience changed. In this cycle it seemed to feel best somewhere in the middle. It seems to be the same frequency as the last cycle but it's a very noticeable change in how it feels on your nipples. It's kind of a strong, curious throbbing -- it's softer and fuller, not like a needle but almost like your nipple is being pinched by fingers repeatedly at a very fast rate. Like superman is gently pinching your nipples at super nipple-pinching speed! Not pinched hard, but abruptly and firmly. It's very curious and very intense, but in a really lovely way. I could crank this all the way up, but still preferred the high-mid range just below hot needle.
